A stagnant weather pattern across Europe will bring multiple rounds of severe weather to the central and eastern parts of the continent in the coming days.
A large storm system meandering over the regions will produce areas of unsettled weather across the continent, but a boundary between warm air over far eastern Europe and cooler conditions over central Europe will be closely monitored by AccuWeather forecasters this week.
This clash of air masses will help to produce strong to severe thunderstorms from the Baltic States to the northern fringes of the Balkan Peninsula each day through Friday.
Riga in Latvia, Warsaw in Poland and Belgrade in Serbia are a few cities that may have severe storms sweep through multiple times this week.

The most likely time for the strongest storms to develop will be in the afternoon and evening hours.
As of Monday afternoon, local time, there have been reports of severe thunderstorms producing large hail and a tornado in southern Lithuania.
"The main threats from storms developing through the end of the week will be large hail and damaging wind gusts," said AccuWeather Meteorologist Tyler Roys.
An isolated tornado can also not be completely ruled out.

Rounds of rain from heavy thunderstorms will also increase the risk of localized fooding, mainly in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Residents across the region should keep an eye to the sky and heed warnings from local officials as weather conditions could change rapidly into the afternoon hours, Roys added.
With not much change expected in the weather pattern after this week, unsettled conditions, especially in eastern Europe, could continue into the weekend.
