A slow-moving storm system will unleash a period of heavy rainfall on parts of the United Kingdom from Sunday night into Monday.
Rain will spread over parts of southern and eastern England Sunday afternoon, becoming heavy at times Sunday night into Monday.
Hardest-hit areas will include London, Reading, Colchester and Brighton.
A total rainfall of 25-50 mm (1-2 inches) is expected with local amounts up to 75 mm (3 inches).
Rainfall of this magnitude can result in dangerous spray and flooding of roadways, along with stream and river flooding.
Flights as well as train and bus services could be impacted leading to longer commutes.
Strong winds and cold air arriving with this storm will add to the misery, and a few snowflakes cannot be ruled out on the high ground.
“It will feel quite cold with a chilly wind blowing in from off the North Sea,” said AccuWeather Meteorologist Rob Richards.
Frequent wind gusts of 20-30 mph (32-48 km/h) are expected with local gusts up to 40 mph (65 km/h).
These strong winds will make using a brolly difficult, so plan accordingly if you will have to endure any extended time outdoors.

Another front will move across the region by the middle of the week causing more spells of rain.
