Following a period of relatively warm and pleasant weather, a storm will swing from western Europe and into the North Sea through Monday.
Rounds of rain will inundate northern Portugal and northwestern Spain, while showers and thunderstorms sweep across northeastern Spain and southern France into Monday.
Sunday's weather is expected to be the most disruptive, with stormy conditions remaining in place over the Iberian Peninsula, while also spreading through much of France, Switzerland, western Austria and Germany.
"Severe storms are expected across far eastern France and western Germany into Sunday evening, with heavy rain, hail [and] gusts up to 50 mph (80 km/h) possible," warned AccuWeather Meteorologist Rob Richards.
Travel delays, localized flooding and some property damage will be possible in French cities such as Toulouse, Montpellier and Lyon, as well as Geneva, Bern and Zurich, Switzerland.
Residents and tourists should make sure to take shelter in a sturdy building at the first sign of threatening weather and to avoid traveling through flooded areas.
"While no widespread flooding is expected, Monday will be a wet day in northern France, Belgium and the Netherlands," Richards said.
