Multiple rounds of severe thunderstorms will hit the Midwest and East into Monday as an active weather pattern continues.
Here's what we are tracking on Friday: Showers and storms are ongoing in Northeast, Plains and Tennessee Valley right now.
Active storm pattern continues this weekend into early next week. Here's a general look at where there is a heightened risk of severe weather each day.
-Saturday: Friday's system will head farther east and is likely to produce severe storms from the upper Ohio Valley into parts of the Northeast by late afternoon and into the evening hours. Wind damage, hail and a few tornadoes are all potential threats, especially in the area outlined in red below, which includes Scranton and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Binghampton, New York.
Some severe storms are also possible in parts of the Central Plains and Deep South. Damaging wind gusts are the biggest threat with these storms, but an isolated today cannot be ruled out.
-Sunday: Another system will emerge into the Plains and Midwest. This could produce severe weather from the Central Plains to the mid-Mississippi Valley, including Kansas City and St. Louis.
The storms could produce wind damage, hail and isolated tornadoes.
-Monday: Severe storms from that next system might continue farther east, especially in the Ohio Valley and central Appalachians.
