Winter Storm Prompts School Closures in Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas; Stretch of I-80 in Wyoming Closed

Dozens of school districts announced they would be closed Wednesday as a winter storm that brought snow to Colorado continues its march eastward.
The closures include Oklahoma City Public Schools, the University of Oklahoma-Norman Campus and Western Oklahoma State College.
Several districts in Missouri also canceled classes, including Columbia Public Schools, and school closures were also announced in Texas.
On Tuesday, most Denver schools delayed opening, and all major school districts in the Colorado Springs area were closed, the Associated Press reported.
To the north, parts of Interstate 80 remained closed in Wyoming Tuesday evening because of the snow and ice. Long stretches of I-80 and Interstate 25 were shut down early Monday because of the storm, which was named Kade by The Weather Channel. Many other highways in the state also closed.
Flights were delayed or canceled again on Tuesday.
More than 20 incoming or outgoing flights at Denver International Airport were canceled or delayed early Tuesday, according to the flight-tracking website FlightAware. More than 175 flights were canceled Monday.
Denver police reported 169 accidents between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday. Tuesday, the number of crashes before 10 a.m. was down to 35.
The Utah State Patrol said as of 7:45 p.m. Monday troopers had investigated 313 crashes.

The University of Utah in Salt Lake City canceled all afternoon and evening classes on Monday. Salt Lake City schools were closed for just the second snow day in about 20 years, according to the Associated Press.
