After a wet and stormy winter season, spring is set to arrive early across the United Kingdom.
Warmth will settle in quickly for the Midlands and the southern UK, according to AccuWeather Meteorologist Tyler Roys.
He said, "Much of the United Kingdom is running between 1.5 and 2.5 degrees Celsius above normal this winter, including London, Cardiff, Manchester, Glasgow and Edinburgh. I expect much of that to continue in the springtime."
The warmer conditions will allow planting season to begin earlier than normal.
However, the warmth will be a double-edged sword for outdoor lovers.
"Along with the growing season coming early, allergy season will also arrive sooner than usual. It may be especially challenging for those with grass and tree pollen allergies," he said.

While drought conditions have been a concern for the Midlands and southern England for the last few years, this spring will bring no such problem.
"We do not expect drought this season, given how wet the winter has already been," Roys said.
Large portions of the UK are running 150-200 percent above normal for precipitation during the winter season.
In the northern UK, this wet spell will continue into spring.
"Belfast, Glasgow and Edinburgh may be especially wet this season," Roys said.
Precipitation across the remainder of the UK is expected to average close to normal for spring as a whole.
