A strengthening storm system will set its sights on parts of western and central Europe later this week and deliver significant impacts to the region.
Areas from the Iberian Peninsula to southern France and Italy will be dealt the worst blow from the storm which will sweep through the countries from Friday into Sunday.
These impacts will include heavy rainfall capable of causing flooding and powerful winds which may result in power cuts and travel disruptions.

Rainfall will spread over Portugal and northwestern Spain Thursday night before advancing across the rest of Spain and into southern and western parts of France on Friday.
The heaviest rain will consolidate over southern France and northwestern Italy from Friday night into Saturday. It will be during this time when significant flooding and travel disruptions are possible.
"Rainfall amounts of 75-150 mm (3-6 inches) are possible in this region, including Montpellier, Marseille and Nice in France and Genoa and Turin in Italy," said AccuWeather Senior Meteorological Dave Houk.
This heavy rainfall will also elevate the risk for mudslides in areas of rugged terrain.
Frequent wind gusts of 50-65 km/h (30-40 mph) in addition to saturated soil will heighten the risk for tree damage and power outages.
Strong winds will also accompany the rainfall across the Iberian Peninsula from late Thursday night into Friday.
"Wind gusts of 80-105 km/h (50-65 mph) are expected along and near the coast of Portugal and northern Spain," said Houk.
"Gusts of 65-80 km/h (40-50 mph) are possible across the rest of the Iberian Peninsula," added Houk.

By Sunday, the storm will track toward southern Italy where it will unleash torrential rainfall and locally strong winds.
Flash flooding will again be the most widespread concern. The heavy rainfall may also produce travel disruptions and increase the risk of mudslides.
"Locations across the southern third of Italy will be at risk for 75-150 mm (3-6 inches) of rain from Sunday into Monday," Houk said.
Locally damaging wind gusts can also trigger power outages and topple trees across the region.
