Australia Easter outlook: Holiday weekend forecast from Perth to Sydney and Brisbane

By Eric Leister, AccuWeather senior meteorologist

A wide variety of weather will unfold across Australia during the upcoming four-day holiday weekend.
The good news is that no extreme weather is expected to ruin activities; however, there will be a risk for rainfall at some point from Friday to Monday in most of Australia's major cities.
Perth
The holiday weekend will start off chilly and damp on Friday as a cold front races across Western Australia. A high temperature of 16 C (60-61 F) is expected.
Dry weather will return from Saturday to Monday with temperatures slowly climbing each day.
Monday will be the warmest day of the holiday weekend with a high temperature of 22 C (72 F) and plenty of sunshine.

Adelaide
A warm and dry start to the holiday weekend will greet those traveling to and near Adelaide with a maximum temperature near 30 C (86 F) both Friday and Saturday.
The cold front will arrive Saturday night into Sunday, bringing a period of rainfall followed by much lower temperatures.
High temperatures on Sunday and Monday will be near 19 C (66-67 F).
Morning showers will yield to some afternoon sunshine on Sunday, with a dry and mostly sunny day expected on Monday.
Melbourne
Warm and dry weather will hold across the Melbourne area from Friday into Sunday morning with plenty of sunshine on Friday and Saturday. Morning sunshine will give way to more clouds in the afternoon on Sunday with the risk for a few showers before sunset.
Saturday will be the warmest day of the holiday weekend with an afternoon high temperature near 29 C (84 F).
The warm and dry conditions will raise the risk for wildfires across Victoria during the holiday weekend. A bush fire near Mount Clear forced evacuations and destroyed one structure earlier this week, according to ABC News.
The cold front will arrive Sunday night bringing the risk for additional showers. Cooler but dry weather will follow on Monday.
Canberra
Dry weather is expected for most of the holiday weekend in Canberra, along with above-normal temperatures.
Daily high temperatures of 22-25 C (71-77 F) are forecast with a mixture of clouds and sunshine each day.
The only chance for rainfall will be Monday afternoon, when there can be a brief shower or thunderstorm.
Sydney
Warm weather will also prevail throughout the Sydney area each day of the holiday weekend.
Daily high temperatures of 23-26 C (73-79 F) are in the forecast along with a mixture of clouds and sunshine.
There will be the risk for a passing shower each day; however, much of the time will be dry.
Brisbane
Anyone going outdoors in Brisbane or the Sunshine Coast will have to be alert for daily showers and thunderstorms each day from Friday to Monday.
Despite the risk for daily rainfall, extended spells of dry weather are expected throughout the holiday weekend.
Daily high temperatures of 25-27 C (77-80 F) are expected with coastal locations remaining the coolest each day.
