A storm system developing off the southeastern coast of Australia this weekend will bring rounds of showers and thunderstorms from southeastern Queensland through eastern New South Wales.
The result will be a wet weekend for Sydney and Brisbane, with multiple rounds of rainfall and even a thunderstorm for both cities.
This shift to wetter weather will keep a cap on temperatures following some extreme heat earlier this week.

The high temperature reached 37.7 C (99.9 F) in Brisbane on Monday, setting the highest mark in the city during the month of March in more than a decade.
The heat peaked in Sydney on Tuesday as the mercury reached 37 C (98 F).
Cooler air was felt in both cities on Wednesday, and this trend will continue into the weekend as wet weather increases.
While extreme heat will not be a risk, downpours and thunderstorms will bring new risks to the region.
Downpours can result in localized flooding, especially in urban areas. Also thunderstorms can produce travel-disrupting winds and hail.
