While the 2019 Players Championship began on Thursday amid sunshine and summerlike temperatures, much cooler, wetter weather is expected to accompany players for Round 4 on Sunday.
After peaking in the mid-80s F on Friday afternoon, temperatures have only fallen each day. On Saturday, the thermometer topped out around 70 at Ponte Vedra Beach.
For the final day of play on Sunday, temperatures will "be on the cooler side," AccuWeather Meteorologist Brett Edwards said, struggling to exceed even 60 F as players contend for the $12.5 million prize.
Morning temperatures will bottom out just below 60 F, making it feel quite mild for the first tee times around 8:00 a.m. EDT. However, temperatures will struggle to rise throughout the day, with a high of just 61 F expected even for the final tee offs at 1:35 p.m.

With a forecast high temperature that is nearly 15 F below normal, the day will feel even more shockingly cold given that recent days have been as warm as 10 F above normal.
Players, caddies and spectators alike will want to grab a few extra layers, including sweaters and rain jackets as a cloudy, chilly and rainy day unfolds.

"Some moderate showers could linger across the course for most of the morning groups," Edwards warned. "A few showers may linger during the afternoon as the leaders head out onto the course."
"This will soften up the course and allow for players to get aggressive on their approach shots in the morning," he said.

A downpour or two cannot be ruled out, so umbrellas and waterproof shoes may come in handy as well.
Luckily, the threat for lightning is low, so the tournament will likely go on uninterrupted by storms.
