Pounding seas will continue to spread along the eastern coast of Australia through the end of the weekend.
Oma has meandered across the eastern Coral Sea for more than a week and is expected to continue its journey during the final days of February.
The former cyclone will continue to meander over the waters of the Coral Sea in between Australia and New Caledonia through the end of the weekend.

Coastal locations from Port Macquarie in New South Wales northward to Fraser Island in Queensland can face more coastal flooding as a strong onshore flow continues to drive abnormally higher tides onto the coast.

Rip currents will pose a serious risk to anyone attempting to enter the rough surf.
Boaters may be forced to remain in port for an extended period of time, or ships may have to re-route their courses.
The lengthy duration of the pounding seas and coastal flooding will also result in significant beach erosion this weekend.
A moist flow of air circulating around Oma will lead to showers occasionally dampening New South Wales and the southeastern Queensland coastline.

While outdoor and beach plans can be ruined, the heaviest rain associated with Oma is expected to remain well off the coast.
The dangers associated with the rough seas are expected to gradually ease at the New South Wales beaches, but increase farther north along the eastern coast of Queensland.
Oma is expected to make a turn to the north more than likely missing the Australian coast. Rough seas will remain, but no other impacts are expected.
There is still a possibility that Oma could turn into Queensland later this week bringing downpours, but this is looking less likely at this time.
