Thanks to a persistent trough or dip in the Jet Stream over the Eastern Two-thirds of the US since practically the beginning of March 2018, the region, particularly the Northeastern corner, has experienced a chilly, dreary, stormy spring so far. One region or area affected by this is the New York City metro-area as since March 1, 2018, the metro-area has been slammed, first by 4 massive nor'easters during the first 3 weeks of March and now the trough has lead to persistent cool, damp, rainy weather with above normal rainfall and below normal temperatures (in some instances as much as 15-20 degrees at times) for the rain-weary, water-logged, storm-battered, swamped New York City area. Here's the temperature and precipitation (in rainfall),totals for the New York City metro-area and the city of White Plains; in the northern suburbs of Westchester, in particular, since the first full day of the 2018 spring season,as of 2AM,EDT,May 17,2018 from weatherunderground.com
