While showers may put a damper on some holiday plans, no windstorms nor flooding rain are projected to aim at the United Kingdom and ruin Easter Sunday.
The strong dome of high pressure sending chilly air into the U.K. through this weekend is expected to gradually ease and give way to more unsettled weather next week and into the Easter holiday weekend.
When compared to other days of the holiday, latest indications are that showers can be most widespread across the U.K. on Good Friday.
Flooding downpours are likely to be absent, but travelers may encounter slower driving conditions and/or minor flight delays.
The showery spells may gradually press farther to the north Saturday into Sunday, giving way to a nice Easter in the southern U.K.
"At this time, it looks like residents can leave wellies home for Easter sunrise services across Wales, southern England and the Midlands," said AccuWeather Meteorologist Tyler Roys.
Spring jackets may still be needed, but the chill bringing this week to an end will be long gone. Early morning lows and afternoon highs are expected to be slightly above normal.

Highs for April 21 typically range from 12-14 C (53-58 F) across the southern U.K. with average early morning lows of 4-7 C (40-45 F).
"The best chance for springtime showers on Easter will be across the northern U.K.," Roys said.

"There may be a steadier band of rain that can dampen some communities, but a washout is not expected," he said.
Anyone with outdoor holiday plans in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen may not need to cancel those festivities but should prepare for some adjustments in timing or venue.
The depression set to deliver the showery spells is also anticipated to remain weak, keeping strong winds absent and preventing residents from having to face power cuts and damage on the holiday.
